Indian culture lays a lot of emphasis on the deep emotional bond between mothers and children. Keeping this line in mind, every year students of std 4th perform Matrupujan on occasion of Lalita Panchmi .

As a part of the ceremony, the children washed the feet of their mothers and then applied haldi & kumkum. The children garlanded their mothers, worshipped them and took their blessings. The mothers, in turn, blessed their children by kissing them on the forehead. This wonderful moment was made even sweeter by the children feeding sweets to their mothers.

The faces of the children and their mothers were beaming with joy throughout the puja.

At the end of the elaborate ceremony, the children offered a letter and gift to their mothers.

This puja was undertaken with guidance of Mrs. Suhasini Karwadkar .She spoke about the importance of the day, mothers shared their view on this auspicious day.

A serene, spiritual and emotional atmosphere was created during the 'puja'.
